MPLAD (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Fund)
MPLAD (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Fund), commonly known as MP Fund, is a provision extended to each MP to support various initiatives in his own constituency. AnanthKumar has utilized his MP Fund to the fullest extent. In a time span of 12 years, AnanthKumar has utilized the MPLAD scheme encompassing the entire fund of Rupees twenty crores & by intelligent allocation, he has stretched every rupee to reach the most appropriate end user. This has been done under careful monitoring & scrutiny to help the maximum number in maximum fields.
Some prominent highlights of the beneficiaries under the scheme are listed below.
The crying need of most Kannada medium schools has been attended to. Creation of new buildings, classrooms, toilet blocks, computer labs, drinking water facilities, benefiting more than 200 schools & colleges. Audio visual hi-tech facilities for Vijaya college & Vidya Vikasa trust school building for the mentally challenged.
Building dormitories at Victoria hospital & KC General hospital, hi-tech medical equipment to Vani Vilas hospital, Karnataka cancer society, Bangalore kidney foundation, Jain hospital, NIMHANS, Rashtrothana blood bank, Free mobile health center to Sagar Apollo hospital & also to Seva Bharathi.
The following civic amenities were provided. Library at Gokhale Institute, First Ladies gym at Chamarapet, Ladies changing room for athletes at Basavanagudi, playgrounds lighting facility at National College. The other works included gyms, parks, toilets, and community halls in more than 15 slums, BWSSB development projects, and 300 plus bore wells to the needy.

ISKCON food delivery van, Bugle rock development, equipment for ancient manuscript deciphering & preservation facility.
