Adamya Chetana Short Films Competition – 2016


Adamya Chetana invites short films (live shot, animated, stop-motion, etc.) from independent film-makers, student film-makers and general public. The duration of the film could be a minimum of 1 minute and a maximum of 10 minutes.


Theme for short films:

  1. Green Bharath: On Green cover, forest conservation, global warming, etc.
  2. Vande Mataram: Picturisation of Shri Bankima Chandra Chatterjee’s complete Vande Mataram (all 6 stanzas)
  3. Tribute to Dr A P J Abdul Kalam: On his life, his achievements, his message and his vision for Strong Bharath

Film makers are free to come up with creative interpretation of the themes mentioned above.


The category of participation:

Category 01: All participants below the age of 16 years

Category 02: All participants above the age of 16 years


Format: High Definition Video (HDV) 1080p/1920 × 1080/16:9 Wide screen format


Media: Short films can be submitted in MPEG4 in a DVD as a Data DVD or as a DVD Video


Last date for submission: 20th December 2015. Films received after deadline date will in no way be considered.


There is no entry fee to the competition.

By entering the Adamya Chetana Short Film Competition – 2016 (‘Competition’), competition entrants (‘Entrants’) agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. Failure to abide by these terms and conditions may render an Entrant ineligible for the Competition.


  1. The stated “Director” of the short film shall be considered as the “Entrant”. All communications shall be only with the Entrant.


  1. All Entrants must follow the entry guidelines and entrants must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria.


  1. Only one film must be written on a DVD with all info legibly written on it. (Name of the film, Name of the director and Duration of the film & Contact number)


  1. Make sure that the DVD containing only one film must be submitted for judging. Please double-check your files before submitting your entry. If we cannot view your submission, we will be unable to judge your film.


  1. Each film may be submitted only once. In case of multiple entries by different participants, the first entry shall be deemed valid.


  1. If you are submitting two or more films, they should be on separate DVDs.


  1. All films submitted must have been made specifically for the 2015 Competition. All entries must have been completed between 10th November 2015 and 20th December 2015.


  1. The short-films entered shall not consist of advertisements, logos, stock footage, etc. Dubbed versions are not eligible for entry.


  1. Entries become the property of Adamya Chetana. Only original films to be submitted. Plagiarism will result in automatic disqualification. All films submitted shall be clear of all copyrights, moral rights and rights of personality for all content, including music and actors. .


  1. Adamya Chetana takes no responsibility for any failure by an Entrant to obtain the necessary authorisations. Entrants warrant that their films (and any material contained in their films, including, but not limited to, any clip) do not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other rights of any person. Entrants (or their parents/guardians) will fully indemnify Adamya Chetana against any loss, costs, expenses, demands or liability, whether direct or indirect, arising out of a claim by a third party or another party.


  1. The Competition judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the judging process or any outcomes reached. The decision of the jury shall be final, unquestionable and binding on all participants.


  1. To avail the prizes the winners shall possess a valid Photo Identity Card


  1. Once submitted, the entries cannot be withdrawn for any reason whatsoever.


  1. Adamya Chetana reserves the right to refuse the registration of any work/film/person or institution for violating any of the above. Entry and participation of films implies unconditional acceptance of the terms and regulations mentioned above.
