Bengaluru – Nation’s pride, has in the last 10-15 years has seen an unprecedented growth, brought about by IT/BT, Manufacturing, Tourism and education. The salubrious climate, coupled with its cosmopolitan outlook, has made Bengaluru a star among cities in the world. However successive governments in Karnataka have ignored the planning and infrastructure requirements for Bengaluru , resulting in todays Urban Chaos and an unresponsive and unsatisfactory governance model.
The Abide task force was created to bring back the focus on Bengaluru that will provide better infrastructure and more responsive governance to all its citizens. Ananthkumar is Vice Chairman of Abide and has provided the leadership and guidance for the taskforce. His commitment has been such that he has chaired weekly meetings of this group and this has resulted in comprehensive Plan – PlanBengaluru2020 in a short period of few months. He is assisted in Abide by Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Member of Parliament and Convenor of Abide and other members.
Abides PlanBengaluru2020 establishes a growth, development roadmap for the next 10 years with specific milestones for every year. This plan promises to significantly improve Bengaluru over the next 3-4 years with improvements in Governance with new legislation, new investments more transparency, more citizen involvement , Private public partnerships wherever feasible.

It is because of Shri Ananthkumars efforts and Abides plans that the Government of Karnataka has allocated unprecedented outlay in this year’s budget for development of Bengaluru. Shri Ananthkumar and Abide have sought such increased investments into Bengaluru for next 3 years as well so that the City can be fully revitalized and developed for all its citizens.
