The Bharatiya Janata Party will launch a State tour to galvanise the party organisation ahead of the elections to various bodies, including the zilla panchayats.

A decision was taken at separate meetings of the party’s core committee and that of prominent leaders here to analyse the party’s performance in the Lok Sabha polls, on Monday.

According to sources, the tour would start soon after the conclusion of the legislature session.

The party is learnt to have decided to focus on the byelections to the Shimoga, Bellary Rural and Chikkodi Assembly seats. The byelections have been necessitated following the resignation of B.S. Yeddyurappa (Shimoga), B. Sriramulu (Bellary Rural) and Prakash Hukkeri (Chikkodi) upon their election to the Lok Sabha.

The party leaders listed out the organisational activities to be taken up in these constituencies ahead of the bypolls. The party is also learnt to have discussed issues related to preparations for the elections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike. A legislature party meeting was also held later to decide the strategies to be adopted and issues to be raised in the legislature session.
