At the valedictory session of CII-Partnership Summit & Sunrise Andhra Pradesh Investment Meet at Visakhapatnam.

President of CII Shri Sumit Mazumdar and other dignataries were also at this session at Vishakhapatnam on 12 Jan 2016.


The Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri Ananth Kumar presided
over the Valedictory Session of CII-Partnership Summit and Sunrise Andhra Pradesh
Investment Meet held at Vishakhapatnam today. Hon’ble Governor of Andhra
Pradesh, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Union Ministers Shri Ashok Gajapati Raju
and Shri Y. S. Chowdhary and President, CII Shri Sumit Majumder were also present
Hon’ble Minister Shri Ananth Kumar commended the Chief Minister of the
State by calling him as Sun Rise CM of Sunrise State and applauded the initiatives of
Government of Andhra Pradesh like interlinking of Krishna and Godavari rivers under
Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme and Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor
Infrastructure project which passes through the State of Andhra Pradesh. Shri
Kumar took the opportunity and requested the investors to follow clarion call of
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi ji and support various initiatives
of the NDA Government such as Digital India, Make in India, Skill India, Start-Up

During this Investment Meet, Hon’ble Minister announced National Institute of
Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) at Vizag and also announced the
upgradation of Central Institute of Plastics Education and Training (CIPET) Centre of
Vijayawada. This will promote the Government of India’s initiative of Skill India. After
upgradation, CIPET Centre will train 5000 students in B.Tech and M.Tech degree as
compared to the present 200 students. Shri Kumar also said that steps will be taken
to establish Medical Devices Park in Andhra Pradesh which will be a highly
technologically equipped park to provide opportunities for investment of 20000
crores. He also stated that he will take up the matter with the Ministry of Petroleum
and Natural Gas for expansion of HPCL and decide the place and model for a
Greenfield Petrochemical Complex in the State.

Congratulating the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for his bold
initiatives, the Minister assured that the Union Government under the dynamic
leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister would extend all possible support and
assistance for the development of the State.
