The delegation included Karnataka Minister for Transportion Shri Ramalinga Reddy, BMTC Chairman Shri Nagaraj Yadav, BMTC MD Smt Ekroop Kaur (IAS), Shri Atul Tiwari (IAS) and others. (1) The delegation met Union Minister of Heavy Industries Shri Anant Geete at Udyog Bhavan to request funds under FAME scheme for 150 Electric buses for Bengaluru & Karnataka. FAME India (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicles in India) is a part of the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan under the Department of Heavy Industries. (2) The delegation met MoS Road, Transport & Highways Shri Mansukh Mandaviya at Shastri Bhavan regarding financial assistance to Intelligent Transport System for Road Safety measures from the Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways. (3) The delegation met Union Minister of Women & Child Welfare Smt Maneka Gandhi to request funds under the NIRBHAYA scheme to put in place infrastructure for women’s safety. (4) The delegation met Union Minister of Urban Development Shri Venkaiah Naidu to request exemption of service tax on revenue realised from AC buses and to request funds under the AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) scheme for buying buses.
