SHRI ANANTHKUMAR URGES CITIZENS TO MAKE USE OF EYE CARE CAMPS

“We have set up free eye checkup camps in various wards in the constituency. The public should make full use of this facility” said Shri AnanthKumar

He was speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of the free checkup camp on Monday at Sri Tejaswini School, Third block Jayanagar. From the last six months, Adamya Chethana and BW Lions Super Speciality Eye Hospital have worked tirelessly to conduct free eye checkup camps; their contribution to the society also includes providing spectacles at a subsidized cost. This drive also aims to highlight the importance of proper care for the eyes.

Not only limited to the older citizens of Bangalore, the drive also had its fair share of kids coming in to make use of this opportunity. Another highlight of the drive is that it provides for free eye operations for patients in need.

After 40 camps, 12000 people have had their eyes tested. 4500 people who required spectacles were given the same at subsidized rates, also 500 people were provided corrective eye surgery completely free of cost.

The event was also graced by BBMP member Sri N Nagaraj, BJP Byrsandra Ward Representative Sri Bhaskar, Spokesperson Sri Suresh, Shankar and the school’s representatives Srimati Nahima and Srimati Vandana. By afternoon, more than 200 people took the opportunity to get their eyes checked.
