Reviewed the availability of fertilizers at departmental meeting *** Along with Union MoS Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, reviewed the availability of fertilizers at a high level departmental meeting and held a press conference. *** There is sufficient availability of all the required fertilizers like Urea, DAP, MOP, NPK etc for the upcoming Kharif sowing season. *** The vision of the Govt led by our Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi is “Zamin Bachao, Kisan Bachao”. Towards that end, the major Public Sector Fertilizer manufacturers like RCF & NFL have decided to bring down the MRP of DAP (Di-ammonium Phosphate) fertilizer by Rs.2,500 per MT and of MOP (Muriate of Potash) fertilizer by Rs.5,000 per MT with immediate effect. Other fertilizer manufacturers will follow suit. *** Now, a MOP 50 Kg. bag will cost about Rs 250 less and a DAP 50 Kg bag price will cost about Rs 125 less. *** On average, the farmers in India use around 100 LMT of DAP, 25 LMT of MOP and 90 LMT of NPK fertilizers annually. It is estimated that this price reduction entails a benefit of approximately Rs 4,500 crores to farmers annually. *** This reduction of price of Phosphatic and Potassic (P&K) Fertilizers will go a long way in facilitating the balanced use of fertilizers and in improving soil health & its fertility. *** The Department will conduct such availability meetings at regular intervals to ensure that maximum benefits are passed on to the farmers.
