Shri Ananth Kumar Honors Teachers

It has been engrained in our culture to entreat the learned members in the society as represented by the shloka :“Acharya Devo Bhava”.It is in continuation of this enriched tradition that on 2ndof March 2014 , Adamya Chetna organized a day long celebration and felicitation ceremony for the lecturers and teachers since the fact that  “Teachers thoughts influences the life of students..”  still holds true for India.

To make the ceremony more special it was graced by the presence of honorable dignitaries which included the MP of Bangalore South Shri Ananth Kumar, Shri Tejeswani Ananth Kumar chairperson of Adamya Chetna, BBMP corporator Ravindra among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ananth Kumar emphasized how the five elements that make a diligent citizen i.e. Patriotism, Resolve, Discipline, Social Responsibility and Bravery, are always exemplified by the thoughts and principles as enunciated by our esteemed teachers. He mentioned that it is unfortunate that one Thomas Babington Macaulay has altered the once venerable and dignified education system of our nation in a negative manner. I expect that the nation will reverse this negative alteration.

In the ancient Indian education, system the learners were imparted not just knowledge but practical skills as well, although we Indians have forgotten the method it seems to have been picked up by China where the eight school hours are equally divided into imparting knowledge and skill development. Now where there is Saraswati there needs to be a Lakshmi, so education needs to be accompanied by nutrition. A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada envisioned this divine as well as practical accompaniment and is exemplified by the nutritious mid-day meal scheme organized ISCKON temple never sleeps hungry. Such was the magnanimity and greatness of Shri Prabhupad.

The teachers have an onerous activity in their hands as typified by this quotation of Swami Vivekananda: Our duty is to encourage everyone in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.

At the end of the ceremony along with the lecturers Shri Ananth Kumar was also felicitated.

The day-long program also included:

  • For getting your coveted book free – “Book-Carnival” .
